Curtin Accelerate starts applicant search

Curtin University has launched its annual Curtin Accelerate program to help first-time entrepreneurs build and grow their businesses.

The four teams selected will be provided with $5,000 in seed funding, will have access to co-working space, and will take part in a 10-week mentoring program, led by local venture capitalist Matt MacFarlane.

Successful applicants will also be provided with access to industry contacts and networks.

Curtin Accelerate is ranked at #9 on the BNiQ List of Start-up Accelerators, Places and Programs, ranked by dollar value of funded provided this year.

“Applications are now open for the program and I encourage people from the Curtin community with a new business idea to apply,” Curtin director of IP communalisation Rohan McDougall said.

Mr MacFarlane said he was looking forward to working with entrepreneurs on developing business concepts and to encourage the next generation of entrepreneurs to build successful tech businesses in WA.

Curtin will hold a launch event on October 26.
