WA's largest employer has become the latest company to introduce mandatory vaccinations for its staff and visitors.

The new policy will come into immediate effect across Crown Resort's New South Wales and Victorian operations, with Western Australia set to follow shortly.

Crown will have until January 31 to finalise a policy for its hotels and casino in Perth to ensure it meets recently implemented state government guidelines.

The ASX200-lister estimates it has roughly 5800 people on its roster in WA, making it one of the largest private employers in the state.

The WA government introduced a three-tiered mandatory COVID-19 vaccine policy accounting for roughly 75 per cent of the state’s workforce in October.

Crown Resorts and Crown Melbourne chief executive Steve McCann said the staggered introduction reflected different COVID-19 situations in place across Australia.

“Perth continues to enjoy an almost COVID-free environment and Government policy is still evolving, so we are not quite as advanced in our consultation,” Mr McCann said in a statement.

“We need to finalise the methodology but our aim will be to achieve alignment across all of our resorts.”

He said the policy had received overwhelming support from stakeholders after undertaking a month-long consultation with employees, unions, industry and business organisations.

“The mood has shifted in Australia over the last few months, and people are recognising that we all have a part to play,” he said.

Crown Resorts shares are up 2.61 per cent and trading at $10.21.
