THE only Western Australian member of the Federal Government’s new 12-strong Small Business Council is seeking input from the State’s business people ahead of the organisation’s first meeting late next week.

East Fremantle-based Leanne Wesche, the former general manager of The Sprout Factory until it was sold earlier this year, wants to hear from small business people about the key issues.

She said she would take those concerns to her first meeting on Thursday.

The national small business consultative body has been established by the Federal Government to advise on the broad range of issues that impact on the sector.

Small Business and Tourism Minister Joe Hockey said the Small Business Council was comprised of business operators from across Australia who brought a wealth of experience to the council from a wide range of industries.

Mrs Wesche has extensive experience in small to medium-sized business management, including marketing and promotions experience in the food industry, research development, export, quality assurance, mentoring and business coaching.
