Duratec and Monadelphous have both secured contracts on BHP's iron ore sites as part of a suite of new work.

Wangara-based Duratec was awarded a contract to deliver wharf structural remediation work at the BHP Finucane Island operations in Port Hedland.

The contract is valued at $48 million with the project work set to commence immediately and on-site work at Berth C and Berth D scheduled for March 2023.

The scope of work on the mining giant’s wharf will include reparation of steel piles and members, replacement of steel ladders, concrete remediation, fabrication and installation of a new raw water line and hose connection points, maintenance jetty repair and demolition of two access landings.

The project is expected to be completed in February 2025.

Duratec managing director Phil Harcourt said the new contract represents a key milestone in the company’s business strategy.

“Duratec continues to demonstrate its ability to secure work through its early contractor involvement engagement model by working with its clients early in partnership to deliver project solutions that are beneficial to all parties,” Mr Harcourt said.

“Duratec has a long history in delivering large asset remediation projects nationwide, supported by [our] in-house technical engineering expertise.”

Meanwhile, Monadelphous said it had secured about $110 million in new contracts and contract extensions in an announcement on the ASX today.

The company was granted a three-year contract extension by BHP to continue its delivery of engineering services at its mine sites and port operations across the Pilbara.

Monadelphous was also awarded a contract by CPB Contractors and John Holland to work at their joint venture West Gate Tunnel Project in Melbourne.

The company has won a five-year contract in the Queensland coal seam gas market to deliver pipeline maintenance services.

Monadelphous-owned maintenance and construction contractor Buildtek has secured three contracts in Chile with all work expected to be completed in 2023.

Two of the contracts would deliver services at the Minera Escondida, a site which BHP owns and operates 57.5 per cent.

The scope of work for the project includes improvements to the water capture and drainage system and reparations of the oxide tank.

A third contract is set to improve and repair water storage tanks at the Puerto Coloso Filter Plant.

In addition to BHP contracts, Monadelphous has secured a contract with Liontown Resources to supply and fabricate structural steel and platework at the company’s new Kathleen Valley Lithium Project.

The contract is anticipated to be completed mid-2023.

Duratec shares were up 6.9 per cent to trade at 54 cents while Monadelphous shares were down 3 per cent at $13.

BHP shares were down 1.7 per cent trading at $45.2.
