Contemporary US-China Relations and Implications for Australia

Tuesday, 6 June, 2006 - 22:00
The Oriental Post, in conjunction with the Australian-American Association and the US Consulate General in Perth, will hold a breakfast seminar on the above topic, June 13 at the Royal Perth Yacht Club. The keynote speaker for this event is Dr Robert Sutter, visiting professor in the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University in Washington, DC (US). China, with its impressive economic growth, rapid industrialisation and large population is currently a major focus in world trade and has already overtaken many developed economies in terms of size and influence. It is evident that relations between the Middle Kingdom and the world’s largest economy, the US, will be a major factor in global trade and politics as we enter the 21st century. Tickets for this event cost $58 per person and $550 for a table of 10. For more information contact Oriental Post on 9328 6898 or email info@orientalpost.com.au. UWA is also holding a similar event with Dr Sutter as a guest speaker, as part of the Confucius Institute Lecture Series, June 12 at UWA (see Visiting WA).
