Construction contracts and tenders Feb 8 to 21

McCorkell Constructions has been awarded a $1.6 million contract to perform stage B of the Perth Zoo lion exhibit upgrade. Stage A, which included the main enclosure and viewing area, opened in October last year after construction by McCorkell under a $1.2 million contract. Stage B will include the exhibit’s breeding area, with indoor dens and a private outdoor area for a mother lioness and her cubs. The full exhibit is expected to have room for a pride of eight lions.

The Department of Communities has awarded Yurra a $1.2 million contract to perform landscaping and ancillary works for the Broome Aboriginal Short Stay Accommodation project. The BASSA project is currently under construction by Ricon Contractors, and is expected to complete by the middle of this year.

BE Projects has won a $930,306 contract to construct stage one of the external store at Wandoo Prison.

Access stairs and a lookout at Eighty Mile Beach will be constructed by Kullarri Building under a $344,732 contract recently awarded to the company.

Sampro Contracting has won a $141,724 contract for interior and external paintwork at the Broome Courthouse.

D J McGinty & Co has been awarded a $106,800 contract to renovate and repair offices at 227 Hannan Street Kalgoorlie, for use by a member of the Legislative Assembly.
