Construction contracts and tenders August 24 to September 6 2017

PACT Construction has been selected as the builder of the $32.3 million mixed-use 650 Albany Highway apartment project on the corner of Albany Highway and Miller Street in Victoria Park.

Designed by Hillam Architects, the six-storey development will comprise of 101 apartments and 10 ground-floor commercial units. The first floor of the building will house a swimming pool, cabana, and gym. Also incorporated is a fifth-floor outdoor common area featuring barbecues.

It is expected work on the project will be completed in the second quarter of 2019.

The development aims to employ various passive and active solar and energy efficiency strategies to achieve a four-star green rating.

The state government has awarded a $6 million contract for construction of the new Cunderdin Health Centre to Firm Construction. The health centre, to be built under the ongoing Southern Inland Health Initiative, is intended to provide primary health services such as immunisation, home and community care.

The centre, designed by Iredale Pedersen Hook, will also provide 24-7 emergency care, and have the ability to offer emergency ‘telehealth’ services.
