THE lives of small businesses required to lodge documents with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission has been made easier with the development of an interactive website service called eRegisters.
Small businesses can also view and update their company details held by the ASIC.
Small Business Development Corporation managing director George Etrelezis said small businesses could even lodge their annual returns from the comfort of their home or office.
The site will initially run as a trial so the ASIC can explore the business issues involved and evaluate the benefits of the service.
The service is not available to electronic lodgement agents. Nor will it accept lodgements for public companies, changes to alternate directors or companies that are in external administration.
To subscribe to eRegisters, business operators can visit the ASIC’s website at www.asic.gov.au or phone (03) 5177 3988.
