Comdek avoids wind-up

A WINDING-UP application against IT services company Comdek was dismissed in the Supreme Court last week. This followed more than two months of negotiations with various creditors, including Todaytech Distribution, which lodged the original application on May 3. “Comdek has since reached a confidential agreement with all creditors who have appeared in the proceedings that has seen the wind-up application dismissed by consent,” the company said in a statement. The settlement followed the sale of Comdek’s VianetAIP group of Internet service providers to another listed Perth company, Datafast Telecommunications. Comdek managing director Haydn Collins said the sale “provided the company with an injection of funds that will assist in the short to medium term”. Mr Collins said Comdek’s core focus would be the provision of broadband Internet services to regional Australia as well as voice and data services to mining companies.
