The City of Perth has approved plans for a $6 million, five-storey hotel on Hay Street, behind the Perth Ambassadors Hotel.
The 56-room hotel will be constructed on a car park located between Hill and Bennett streets.
City of Perth Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi said the modular construction method to be used for the proposed development will be the first of its kind in Perth.
“Pre-fabricated modules will be inserted into a steel-frame structure,” she said.
“The City of Perth has negotiated with the developer, Australia Pacific Hotels, to ensure the building is aesthetically consistent with the City’s development standards.”
The hotel will also incorporate a retail tenancy at ground level.
