Cirrus wins second Geoscience contract

Perth-based IT services company Cirrus Networks has landed another contract with the federal government, worth about $4.5 million.
The contract involves a major infrastructure upgrade for Geoscience Australia, which is seeking to reduce its existing data centre storage footprint from 14 racks across two sites to a single rack in each centre.
Cirrus will work with US-headquartered companies NetApp and Cisco to complete the project, expected to be finished before the end of the financial year.
It follows a $13 million contract awarded from Geoscience to Cirrus in March 2021 for the provision of remote services, including device management and network and support services.
“The storage infrastructure contract success showcases the established data centre management consultancy skills the Cirrus team offers our clients,” Cirrus managing director Christopher McLaughlin said of the latest contract.
“And we’re delighted to be recognised by a very important client such as Geoscience Australia for this best practice solution that delivers true value and efficiencies.”
Cirrus’ shares were up 7.4 per cent this afternoon to trade at 2.9 cents each.
