THE University of Western Australia’s professor of zoology Lyn Beazley has been appointed as Western Australia’s chief scientist. Professor Beazley is a neuro-scientist and has worked in Perth for the past 20 years, specialising in the area of brain development research. Among various portfolios, Professor Beazley is an adviser to the National Science Research Council in Sweden, a fellow of the Australian Institute of Biologists and chair of the Gene and Related Therapies Research Advisory panel.
