THE Perth office of the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association will be re-jigged at the end of this month.
The Canberra-based association’s current director for WA and the Northern Territory, James Pearson, will leave APPEA on August 23 to become Australian manager of external affairs at ChevronTexaco. Don Saunders, APPEA’s director of education and training, will take over from Mr Pearson as regional director but will continue to perform some duties associated with his current educative role.
APPEA executive director Barry Jones said that, in preparing for Mr Pearson’s departure, the association had decided to reassign some duties in the Perth and Canberra offices. Some of Mr Sanders’ work in education, and also some of Mr Pearson’s duties, will be shifted to other staff in Canberra.
Sotico sale
LOCAL timber company Sotico is selling its 16.2-hectare property on Orrong Road in Welshpool as part of a push to consolidate the business.
The company plans to negotiate a deal where it would lease back two thirds of the property to house a scaled down operation, after December 2003.
Colliers International has been appointed to sell the property, and director of industrial agency Craig Robertson said he would be calling for expressions of interest for the first stage of the site over the next few months.
He said the site could easily achieve as many as 60 industrial lots and a first stage of 18 lots would possibly be available by mid 2003. Mr Robertson anticipated lots would sell for around $140/sq m.
“At this stage we are looking at a potential 12 large lot subdivision and a 60 small lot subdivision.”
