Takeover target Mesa Minerals has received a requisition calling for the removal of four of its directors, less than a fortnight after shareholders voted down moves to oust the same directors.

The company said it had received a request from shareholder Mighty River International to remove chairman Norman Coldham-Fusell and directors Alan Scott, Warren Brown and Marcel Van De Velde.

The shareholder has nominated Shane Hartwig, Guy Le Page and Justin Brown as replacements.

Mesa today said the resolutions were "exactly the same" as those considered and defeated at the company extraordinary general meeting late last month.

The defeat of those resolutions satisfied a takeover condition by Mineral Resources, and Mesa stated today that any further attempts to replace the board will not affect the takeover.

Mesa's board has unanimously recommended Mineral Resources' offer.

Mesa said it will consider the requisition.
