Western Australia has recorded another 15,205 COVID cases and five historical deaths overnight, with the number of active cases across the state now just shy of 90,000.
In a statement released this morning, WA Health confirmed the deaths dated back to April 14, including a man and woman in their 90s, a man in his 80s, a man in his 70s and a woman in her 60s.
The number of people with COVID-19 in hospital is sitting at 304, with 11 people being treated in ICU.
Today’s figures take the total number of active infections in WA to 89,985.
There were 14,990 PCR tests administered yesterday, more than a third of which returned a positive result.
The state hit a new record high for daily case number yesterday, with new infections exceeding 17,100.
