The Corruption and Crime Commission's public hearing due to start at 10am on Monday 4 December will complete the hearing of evidence into the proposed Smiths Beach development at Yallingup.

Executive Director, Mike Silverstone, said the hearing is expected to be completed within a week subject to the recall of any witnesses for cross examination by lawyers for other witnesses.

"Interested parties will then be given an opportunity to make submissions before the Commission makes an assessment and forms an opinion as to whether misconduct has or may have occurred."

Mr Silverstone said having concluded the Smiths Beach hearing, the Commission intends conducting a separate public hearing as part of another investigation into a range of other matters that have arisen.

"This relates to whether people in senior public positions have engaged in serious misconduct in a number of matters other than Smiths Beach.

"The scope and purpose of that public hearing, to be held in February next year, will be announced prior to its commencement," Mr Silverstone said.
