IT took just two hours for the latest water toy offered by Fremantle’s R Marine to be snapped up by an eager Perth businessman. Riviera’s 4700 sports yacht is a new product range from luxury yacht manufacturer and retails for about $1.25 million. R Marine dealer principal Brendon Grieve said he had received strong buying interest for the vessel, with the first one he could get his hands on selling within two hours of reaching R Marine’s Aquarama Marina. Despite demand from Perth yachting enthusiasts, Mr Grieve reckons he’ll be lucky to be able to get another 4700 delivered in time for Christmas. “Riviera sold 26 of them in one week during the Sydney boat show last August,” Mr Grieve said. “There’s an 18-month wait list to get them.” Mr Grieve said he had managed to secure two Riviera 4700 sport yachts but expected they would arrive next year. He said he could try and secure a yacht from another dealer but the prospective owner would have to pay a $75,000 deposit. The 4700 features three cabins, an inbuilt garage, a hydraulic swim platform, an ice machine, dishwasher and a 22-inch television that folds into a table. “You wouldn’t know it was there until you press a button and up pops the TV,” Mr Grieve told Business Class.
