Perth-based air conditioning and mechanical services company Burke Air has been snapped up by Sydney-based building and communication services firm BSA for $9.2 million in cash and shares.

BSA will pay $8.9 million cash and $300,000 in shares for Burke, which has regional offices in Busselton, Karratha and Port Hedland and is headquartered in Perth.

Burke Air employs around 100 staff, and services more than 700 clients, bringing in revenue of more than $27 million.

“The acquisition of Burke Air is a timely addition to the BSA Gorup, substantially expanding our footprint in Western Australia, and will complement our growing presence in the HVAC design and construction market in Western Australia”, BSA chairman Ross Johnston said in a statement.

BSA managing director Steve Nash said the acquisition of Burke brought the firm closer to the rapidly growing north-west resources sector through its offices in Karratha and Port Hedland.

BSA already has some exposure to the resources sector through its businesses in Queensland and the Northern Territory,” Mr Nash said.

“We expect to leverage our connections to the resources sector in the future.”
