Bunbury's Dolphin Discovery Centre is in the league of the Great Barrier Reef, the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Uluru for children, being included in the Frommer's travel guide - 500 Places To Take Your Kids Before They Grow Up.

The list is due to be released in Australia next month but was previewed today in the Herald Sun newspaper.

The Dolphin Discovery Centre is listed alongside 10 other great Australian attractions for kids, including Queensland's Great Barrier Reef, Fraser Island, the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Uluru.

Dolphin Discovery Centre managing director Andrew Horan said he and his staff were 'over the moon' about being included on the list and hoped it would make people in Western Australia sit up and take notice.

"We are internationally renowned because of our commitment to the welfare of the dolphins but what we would like is for more Western Australians to come and have a look at what is on offer," Mr Horan said.

"It is because of Andrew and his crew's years of dedication and commitment that our children have a greater grasp of environmentally sound tourism and that is one of the main reasons why the Dolphin Discovery Centre has been so successful," Mr Marlborough said.

"The State Government congratulates them and wishes the Dolphin Discover Centre continued success."
