Bullivants acquires WA’s Sling Rig

LOCAL lifting, rigging and safety operator, Sling Rig has been acquired by national operator Bullivants.

The 25-year old business was in receivership two and a half years ago but was resurrected after Western Australian businessman Kim Dean bought the business at a fire sale price in June 2002.

The merged entity will be known as Bullivants Sling Rig and has already begun operating.

Mr Dean, who will join the Bullivants’ board and have initial responsibility for the WA operation, said he could not comment on the price Bullivants paid for Sling Rig.

In a statement Bullivants CEO and managing director Greg McDonell said the combined business now had unmatched industry experience, testing equipment, increased inventory holdings in WA and a greater range of materials handling and safety products and services.

Bullivants will shift into Sling Rig’s Welshpool head office at the end of October and similar moves will take place in Karratha and Bunbury.
