WESTERN Australian firms collected two major awards at the annual Housing Industry Association Australian Housing Awards held in Brisbane last week.

Webb & Brown-Neaves won the Major Builder of the Year Award and Oswald Homes won the Small Lot Housing of the Year Award 2003.

A commendation was also awarded to Western Cabinets for its entry in the Bathroom Project of the Year 2003.

HIA WA branch executive director John Dastlik said it was an honour for the State to be so successful at the biggest and most prestigious awards ceremony for housing in Australia.

“Picking up these national awards shows that WA companies remain at the forefront of Australian building practices and standards,” Mr Dastlik said.

The HIA represents more than 30,000 builders, suppliers and trade contractors across the nation and the HIA awards recognise the excellence in housing construction, design, innovation and technology and the talent of builders and building companies.
