Cooper & Oxley Builders has been awarded a $29.7 million contract by the state government to build additional teaching facilities at Halls Head Community College.

The contract covers both a stage 2 expansion of the college and a year seven facility.

This is the latest instalment in the government’s plan to relocate year seven from the primary school system into the secondary school system.

Recent projects Cooper & Oxley has won include the Osborne Park Hospital development and outpatient department valued at $14.5 million and the Cockburn Gateway Shopping City stage three redevelopment valued at $80 million.

The Halls Head Community College deal was one of several school construction contracts awarded this month.

The government recently awarded $35 million in similar building contracts to Emco Building, Esslemont Cockram, Pyramid Constructions and Robinson Build-Tech.
