LANDCORP has announced the appointment of Terry Budge (pictured) as chairman of the State Government’s land development arm, replacing Neil Hamilton who retired last week.

Mr Budge is a former group managing director of BankWest and has had a number of industry leadership roles, including State president of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and State president of the Committee for Economic development of Australia.

Planning and Infrastructure Minister Alannah MacTiernan said Mr Budge had a strong background in management and would bring strong strategic planning and leadership skills to his new appointment.

“Terry has a 30-year career in the banking industry, with senior management experience at both the National Australia Bank and BankWest,” she said.

“He will be a valuable addition to the board of LandCorp, which operated in an increasingly complex business environment and is moving to a much more commercial footing following recent changes to its governing legislation.”

Board member John Martin also retired after four years on the board.
