Brierty continued its recent run of good news today, with the awarding of a $27 million contract by Main Roads WA.

Brierty will upgrade Great Eastern Highway between Bullabulling and Coolgardie, in the Goldfields region.

The Main Roads contract follows the awarding over the past month of two contracts for mining giant Rio Tinto in the Pilbara.

It won a $300 million, four-year contract for mining and civil works at the Western Turner Syncline project, and a $9.9 million contract for construction of mine access roads.

Both contracts included indigenous partners.

Brierty’s Great Eastern Highway contract is part of a $67 million upgrade, funded by the federal and state governments.

Its share of works will include designing and constructing 36 kilometres of widening, overlay and reconstruction of earthworks, pavements, drainage, and associated road infrastructure.

Design works will commence this month with the contract expected to be completed by June 2015.

Brierty has a long history with Main Roads and we have continued to win repeat business by consistently completing projects successfully and safely,” Brierty managing director Peter McBain said.

“Most recently we were awarded a contract to upgrade part of the Coalfields Highway in the State’s South West, where works are continuing.”
