Brewer opens new venue at Perth Airport

Perth brewer Otherside Brewing Co has opened the doors of its new Perth Airport location in Terminal 2, building on the company's expansion efforts.

In partnership with hospitality company Delaware North, Otherside Brewing Co opened its new venue this week offering a range of craft beers and menu for both in-house dining and takeaway.

Dubbed the Brew Lounge, the venue will also host live music performances and rotating art installations from local artists to attract fly-in, fly-out workers, frequent flyers and regional tourists.

It comes after Otherside Brewing Co’s parent company, Triple-1-Three, announced plans to acquire West Leederville pub Nowhereman Brewing Co and rebrand the asset.

The Perth Airport venue will join Triple-1-Three’s growing list of locations: the Otherside Brewhouse in Myaree, the rebranded West Leederville pub and Fremantle’s Freo.Social and Mojo’s.

The company also brews a selection of beers under its brand Otherside, which are sold at major liquor stores and its venues. 

Otherside managing director James Legge said the team wanted to provide frequent flyers and regional tourists with an uniquely Western Australian pre-flight experience.

“We are very excited to see this project to come to fruition and for the gates to open to this unique experience for Western Australian travellers,” he said.

“With its impressive food and beverage offering, table service model, and representation of WA arts and culture, the Brew Lounge is an exciting new concept in aviation hospitality.

“We look forward to welcoming everyone in to sample our craft beers, the outstanding restaurant-quality menu and, of course, some live music.”

Perth Airport chief commercial and aviation officer Kate Holsgrove said T2 had experienced more than a 50 per cent increase in passenger numbers since opening more than 10 years ago.

“With passenger numbers continuing to grow we wanted to collaborate with a partner that would deliver a new, high-quality food and beverage option for our regional customers,” she said.

“The Otherside Brew Lounge provides a contemporary food and beverage hub in T2, offering a unique pre-flight venue with a dynamic personality and quality local craft beers on tap.”
