UNITED Credit Union has appointed Stephanie Black to succeed outgoing chief executive officer, Ian Williams. An internal appointee, Mrs Black will take on the role when Mr Williams retires on December 31, 2007. Mrs Black has been with United Credit Union for four years in the positions of executive manager of risk and company secretary. Before joining United, Mrs Black worked for BankWest for eight years. During her time there she worked her way up from the office of the chief economist to become a principal auditor. She is a chartered secretary, and a fellow of both the Financial Services Institute of Australasia and the Australasian Mutuals Institute.
