Wine lovers and restaurateurs…prepare to salivate.

Melbourne noshery Vue de Monde is putting on an exclusive dinner with an eye-boggling price tag.

The dinner, to be held next month, is priced at $10,000 and only has enough room for 10 people.

Vue de Monde will serve up 10 vintages of France’s Château Petrus matched to 10 courses designed by its chef, Shannon Bennett. The dinner will be served in the restaurant’s private room. The exact vintages are yet to be confirmed.

One of Margaret River’s most established wineries, Pierro, has parted company with vineyard manager Jurg Muggli. Pierro owner Michael Peterkin did not want to comment on Mr Muggli’s departure, saying it was a “private matter”.

Mr Muggli, a former winemaker for Xanadu Wines, said the timing was unfortunate, however, his contract with Pierro had been for an initial one-year term.

“The timing of it is difficult because if I had known even one month earlier I would have had a lot more options for work, but vintage has already started,” he says.
