The Western Australian Wine & Food Festival has been bought by Australia’s leading organiser of wine and food exhibitions, Diversified Exhibitions Australia.

It will end the 10-year tenure of CMS Events, which under the direction of Richard Campbell, has taken the event to the position as arguably the state’s most important food and wine event.

CMS will retain involvement in the 2007 festival to ensure the transition is a smooth one.

As all things cricket descend on Perth soon, the Hyatt Hotel is hosting the WA leg of the Wine and Wickets dinner series.

On December 6, an evening headed by world renowned cricket commentator Henry Blofeld will be held to coincide with the Ashes series.

Wine critic and self-confessed cricket addict Jeremy Oliver will co-host, as well offering his own ‘commentary’ on nine specially selected Australian wines.
These will include the first tastes of the Wolf Blass White Label 2001 Chardonnay and the 2003 Wolf Blass Platinum Label.
