Global Wine Ventures Ltd has signed a national distribution deal with red+white.

Formerly known as Xanadu Wines Ltd, Global’s principal activities are the manufacture and sale of wine and the provision of viticultural management services.

Red+white is one of the country’s largest independent fine wine distributors and the deal began on August 1.

Crucial to the deal will be the success of Global’s new brand, Cowrock Vineyards. The wine, to be made by former Xanadu winemaker Jodie Opie, will be based on fruit from the Cowrock vineyards, 20 kilometres south of Margaret River.

Further super premium wines are planned to follow next year.

When you think of exclusive food and wine products from around the world, it really doesn’t get much better than French cognac. Perhaps no other product so richly combines the spirit and traditions of all that has come before it, and no-one does it quite like Hennessy, which has been in business for more than 240 years.

In 1971, Hennessy went into partnership with Moet & Chandon, and in 1987 it joined forces with global luxury goods brand Louis Vuitton to create VLMH, the world’s top prestige group.

To this end, Burswood is hosting the Perth leg of the Hennessy Cognac Dinner on Wednesday August 9.

The recently renovated Yú Restaurant will do the honours.

VSOP cocktails on arrival and samples of the finest cognacs including XO, Private Reserve, Paradis and Richard will ensure a particularly decadent evening.

All cognacs will be paired with the premium Chinese cuisine Yú has become known for, and Hennessy experts will be on hand to demystify this rarefied ultra premium beverage.
