Bid to oust Style's Greg Johnson

Less than a week after shareholders voted against a resolution to oust a director, Style Ltd's major stakeholder Merim Pty Ltd has again called for another meeting, this time to remove founder Greg Johnson.

Style said today that Merim is calling for its chief Peter Yunghanns and Charles Gullotta to be appointed to the board.

Last week shareholders voted against a resolution to remove Style director Stephen Roux and appoint Robert Stovold and Drew Nuland, as nominated by Merim.

Style's board has recommended to shareholders to vote against all resolutions, saying it is undergoing a selection process for additional independent non-executive directors.

Style said it did not believe the two nominated candidates could be considered independent.

Mr Johnson is currently non-executive chairman of Style, while Mr Gullota has been described as a solicitor in the New South Wales Supreme Court, according to a Style statement.
