Professional director Hamish Beck will join the board of the state’s Environmental Protection Authority next week, marking his third non-executive role.

Environment Minister Reece Whitby named Mr Beck as the newest member of the state’s independent environmental watchdog this morning.

Starting February 6, Mr Beck will be appointed for a five-year term as a non-executive director and sit alongside chair Matthew Tonts, deputy chair Lee McIntosh and board members Fiona Haslam McKenzie and Jenny Pope.

Mr Beck replaces outgoing member Glen McLeod.

In addition to the EPA, Mr Beck is a non-executive director and chair of Rottnest Island Authority – where he has been since 2016 – and has been chair of the Swan River Trust since 2014.

He is also the managing director of Beck Advisory a development advisory and asset management business, which has been in operation since 2000.

The EPA was formed in 1972 as an independent board to provide advice to the environment minister, assessing the impact of proposed projects, and providing policy and guidance on environmental matters.
