B Digital goes east

Perth-based residential telecommunications player B Digital has completed a management restructure and is finalising plans to relocate to the eastern States.

The move follows the merger between B Digital and NSW-based Digiplus Pty Ltd earlier this year.

The management restructure has resulted in the resignation of B Digital chief operations officer Timothy Levy, chief financial officer Paul Evans and business development manager Scott Cuomo.

Digiplus staff – including operations executive Karen Langtry, finance executive Jenny Hartley and sales and marketing executive Shai Luft – will extend their responsibilities to cover the entire B Digital group.

In an announcement to the Australian Stock Exchange, B Digital said the restructure would eliminate duplication and reduce overhead costs.

Financial results for the half-year period ending December 31 2003 showed the company generated a net profit after tax of $2.6 million during the half.

For the previous corresponding period the company’s net profit after tax was $1.6 million after removing $1 million of profit that resulted from the earlier sale of its South African business, representing a 62 per cent increase in profit during the half.

Following the acquisition of DigiPlus, the company now has about 455,000 customers.
