Ahead of the September awards ceremony, assessment has begun on this year’s nominees:

• Rally Revegetation and Environmental Services, for the development of an all terrain vehicle exploration and rehabilitation auditing unit;

• Tap Oil Limited, for its turtle study and biological survey of the Pilbara coastal islands;

• Apache Energy Limited, for the Victoria Oil Field development on the North West Shelf;

• Communities and Industries Forum - Rockingham and Kwinana, for improving communication between local industries and the community;

• Robe River Iron Associates, for the West Angelas Southern Spur rail project located in the Pilbara;

• Barrick Gold of Australia, for its approach to landfill management at the Lawlers minesite in the East Murchison Goldfields;

• Barrick Gold of Australia, for research on the risk of heavy metals to minesite rehabilitation, and development of the tailings decommissioning plan for the Lawlers gold mine in the East Murchison Goldfields;

• Argyle Diamonds and Warmun, Bow River and Glen Hill Communities, for the use of traditional knowledge in land rehabilitation after alluvial mining;

• Resolute Mining Limited, for its rehabilitation and closure of the Chalice gold mine in the Eastern Goldfields region;

• Beenup Consultative Group, for its implementation of an interactive community consultation process in rehabilitating the Beenup mineral sands mine in the South-West region;

• Wesfarmers Premier Coal, for innovative approaches to rehabilitating former mining operations to become community assets in the Collie area;

• Woodside Energy, Curtin University and International Risk, for the produced formation water study for the Legendre oilfield on the North West Shelf;

• Woodside Energy Limited, for their triple bottom line approach and focus on social aspects to the proposed WA-271-P field development offshore from the North West Cape;

• Woodside Energy Limited and Kellogg Joint Venture, for the Liquefied Natural Gas waste minimisation project on the Burrup Pensinsula;

• Griffin Energy, for its innovative sustainable power project to supply new electricity generation.
