Avanta hits key to success

PERTH-based e-tailing company Avanta.com.au has secured a deal in the US that will provide the it with

prominent market exposure.

The deal involves distribution of 250,000 computer keyboards

featuring an extra key with the Avanta logo to more than 300 major universities. Internet net users are forwarded directly to the Avanta web site when they press the key.

The deal is for a minimum of three years. Avanta.com.au is an online shopping site specialising in brand name perfumes and home electronics such as headphones, stereos and cameras.

Avanta managing director Andreas Adamides said big sellers included JVC, Kodak, Canon and Sharp.

The company has more than 90 different models of headphone from $20,000 Sennheisers to compact street-smart models.

Mr Adamides said e-tail web sites such as Avanta were particularly convenient for rural customers.
