AUSTRALIA’S first hands-on management training program for franchised new motor vehicle dealers and their staff has been launched by the Chamber of Automotive Industries of WA.

The program focuses on lifting the level of service in the motor vehicle industry by improving skills in all facets of management including budgeting and planning, marketing, safety, quality im-provement and customer service.

The program is a joint venture between the chamber and the Australian Institute of Manage-ment. One of the AIM’s courses has been tailored to suit the automotive industry.

Chamber executive officer Howard Croxon said the course had been developed to build on the current level of expertise in the motor vehicle industry.

The program has three levels – Certificate III, Certificate IV and the Diploma in Management that can be completed over 18 months.

The Certificate III costs around $3,000, Certificate IV costs $3,525 and the Diploma costs $4,575.

The first courses will begin in July.
