Fabrication, construction and services firm AusGroup has announced a $36 million contract win with Alcoa for works at the global aluminium giant’s Kwinana, Pinjarra and Wagerup refineries.

The three-year, three-month contract extension will cover maintenance and service work on Alcoa’s calciner furnaces at each plant.

The works will be undertaken by AusGroup subsidiary AGC Industries.

AusGroup managing director Laurie Barlow said the company was pleased to extend its relationship with Alcoa.

“AGS has over a decade of experience in the provision of refractory services,” Mr Barlow said.

“Our systems and advanced methodologies provide our clients with safe and efficient delivery of refractory maintenance, updates and expansions services.”

AusGroup said the contract award  took its current order book to more than $252 million.
