AusGroup has been awarded a restart order for a $12 million contract by Metso Minerals for the construction of two Twin Cell Car Dumpers and two Positioners for Fortescue Metals Group.

The company's subsidiary AGC was originally awarded the contract in April 2008, but it was suspended during the global financial crisis.

The items were put into long-term storage at AGC's fabrication and manufacturing facility in Kwinana.

It is expected the car dumper contract will be completed by May 31, 2012.

The order adds to AGC's existing car dumper contracts for Metso for BHP Billiton's Finucane Island.

"We are delighted to receive this order and continue our long term relationship with Metso," said AusGroup managing director John Sheridan.

"This order further highlights AGC's capabilities as one of the leading fabricators of complex mining equipment within the Australian Mining Industry," he said.

With this new order the Group's order book now stands at $230 million.
