A subsidiary of construction and engineering firm AusGroup, MAS Australasia, has been awarded a $174 million scaffolding contract on the Ichthys liquefied natural gas project.

Contractor JKC Australia awarded MAS the contract at the Inpex-operated Ichthys project in Darwin.

The contract has nearly doubled MAS’s order book to $388 million.

AusGroup chief executive and managing director Stuart Kenny said the contract included providing scaffolding material supply and installation services as well as management, design and engineering.

“With decades of experience providing scaffolding and access services, MAS brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the project. We are excited to work with JKC to deliver another project of excellence, as we continue to build our maintenance business within the oil and gas market,” Mr Kenny said.
