Bassendean-based Aus Fleet Solutions Group will drop its long-standing affiliation with Thrifty and transition to working with global car rental giant Europcar from December.

In a statement released by AFS Group to business sponsors this afternoon, it confirmed the company would continue to trade as Thrifty until November 30 before falling under the Europcar brand from December 1 as part of a “long-term partnership” agreement.

“After thorough consideration of all options, we believe Europcar is the best fit for our business,” the statement read.

AFS said the company would continue to provide the same range of services across its 14 WA-based operating locations and was committed to ensuring a “smooth transition”.

The move marks the end of AFS Group's 40-year long affiliation with the Thrifty Car & Truck Rental franchise.

Europcar, which has been operating for more than 70 years across more than 140 countries, has more than 120 locations across Australia.

AFS was unable to provide further comment on the partnership, nor address whether it was likely to affect its current operations.
