Tuesday, 21 November, 2023 - 10:42

Atos has renewed its contract to provide IT and cloud services to the Western Australian public health system in a five-year, $242 million deal.

The IT company today announced it would continue delivering hybrid cloud and core infrastructure services through a renewal of its partnership with WA Health’s Health Support Services.

HSS is the ICT service provider for the state’s public health system.

Under the contract, Atos will deliver technology solutions to support the digitalisation of health records and systems.

Atos Asia Pacific chief executive Daniele Principato said the company was proud to continue its partnership with HSS in WA.

“This contract renewal is a testament to our ability to deliver best-in-class technology services to our clients in the APAC region and underlines our strong commitment to the Australian market,” he said.

Atos Australia & New Zealand managing director James Berry said the parties had forged a strong relationship from the beginning, including collaborating to deliver cloud system HealthNext.

“Today, we are excited to continue to bring the best of people and technology together to make HSS successful in delivering WA Health’s digital strategy,” he said.

According to Atos, the initial agreement included private cloud, managed public cloud, and managed services for more than 2,000 servers and 1,000 applications.

“We are very pleased to announce that we have renewed our partnership with Atos,” HSS chief information officer Jonathan Smith said.

“Together, we have already successfully delivered the largest application re-platforming program undertaken by WA Health, which was completed on time and met our requirements in terms of security and compliancy.

“We are looking forward to continuing our work with Atos to help implement our WA Health digital strategy.”
