Moore joins FIA

The Food Industry Association has appointed Rebecca Moore as chief executive. Ms Moore has spent the past seven years working in local government. Ms Moore was named Telstra WA Community and Government Business Woman of the year in 2008.

Martin to Port Hedland town

The Town of Port Hedland has appointed Paul Martin as chief executive for a three-year term. Mr Martin was previously the director of community development.

CME roles for Pearce, Crook

Warren Pearce has been appointed the north-west executive officer with the Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia (CME). Mr Pearce previously worked as a policy adviser with the state government. Linda Crook has been appointed executive officer of the eastern region. For the past five years, Ms Crook has worked for federal Member for Kalgoorlie Barry Haase.

Gilchrist IPAA president

David Gilchrist has joined the Institute of Public Administration Australia as president of the Western Australian Council. Professor Gilchrist is currently assistant auditor general standards and quality in the office of the auditor general. Alan Abraham has joined the IPAA as council treasurer. Mr Abraham is chief finance officer for the corruption and crime commission, with more that 35 years experience in the public sector.

White a Clough mover

Nick White has been appointed as director, process engineering, at Clough Mr White was previously head consultant for Granherne. Mr White has more than 30 years’ experience in process design. Chief executive at Clough, John Smith, is to retire in August 2011.

Edgar joins Skill Hire

Employment and training business Skill Hire has appointed Steve Edgar as chief executive officer. Mr Edgar previously held management roles at Wesfarmers, Worley Parsons and Westnet Energy.

Castle Brazilian Metals CE

Brazilian Metals Group has appointed Malcolm Castle to the position of chief executive officer. Mr Castle was appointed as director upon the company completing its acquisition of the Rio Pardo Project.

McDonald to Howard Park Wines

Howard Park Wines has appointed Janice McDonald as senior winemaker for Howard Park and MadFish Wines. With more than 25 years’ experience in brewing and winemaking, Ms McDonald will be overseeing both the Margaret River and Denmark wineries.

Trettel in at Swanline

Paul Trettel will replace James Harris as managing director of Swanline Developments. Mr Harris will stay on as executive director.

Gray joins PwC Perth

Melbourne PwC director Rob Gray has joined the Perth office. Mr Gray will work in the risk and controls solutions team in Perth.

PCYC roles for Gordon, Tan

The Federation of Western Australian Police and Community Youth Centres has appointed Sue Gordon as president of its council of management board. Previous general manager Freddie Tan has been appointed chief executive officer.

Braddock District Court judge

Barrister Gillian Braddock has been appointed as a judge of the District Court, replacing the retiring judge William Groves.

Moves at BDO

BDO Perth has announced the admission of three new partners. Jillian McCorkindale (top right) and Natalie Milne will take up roles in the corporate tax group, while Phil Murdoch will take up a position in auditing. Ms McCorkindale is an associate director in corporate tax. Since joining BDO almost two years ago, Ms Milne has headed up the indirect tax division of BDO’s corporate and international tax team. Mr Murdoch started his career at Horwath Perth in 2000 prior to the merger with BDO. He has 10 years’ experience in audit and corporate services.

Kennedy making news at Notre Dame

Former ABC TV reporter and current WA Business News columnist Peter Kennedy will join The University of Notre Dame as adjunct professor at the Fremantle school of arts and science.

Quinlan to retire from Notre Dame

Michael Quinlan will retire as chancellor of The University of Notre Dame Australia. Dr Quinlan is one of the university’s founders and has been a trustee of the university since its inception. Current deputy chancellor Terry Tobin is to succeed Dr Quinlan as chancellor.

Caldwell Gas Networks CEO

WA Gas Networks has appointed Ross Caldwell to the position of inaugural chief executive officer. Prior to this appointment Mr Caldwell was acting general manager of WestNet Energy Gas Distribution.

Andrewartha manages at Long Nickel

Independence Group has appointed Gary Andrewartha as new registered manager at the Long Nickel Mine. Mr Andrewartha has been in the alternate manager’s position for the past 12 months. Previous registered manager Brett Hartmann is relocating to independence’s head office to assume the position of Group operations manager.
