Sundance to vote on new board

Fiona Harris has agreed to join the board of Sundance Resources as a non-executive director. Ms Harris has board experience with other ASX-listed iron ore companies: currently with Territory Resources and previously with Portman. She also has board experience with Alinta, Burswood and Evans & Tate. Sundance will hold a shareholder meeting on August 16 to vote on the election as directors of Ms Harris, George Jones, Michael Blakiston, Adam Rankine-Wilson and Barry Eldridge.

Cransberg promoted to Eagles chairman

West Coast Eagles board member Alan Cransberg (left) will be promoted to club chairman when incumbent Mark Barnaba finishes his tenure on October 31. Mr Cransberg is managing director of Alcoa Australia. The 115 game Swan Districts veteran joined the board in April 2008.

Tox Free appoints McKinnon to board

Bankwest and Brierty director Bob McKinnon has been named chairman of Tox Free Solutions. Mr McKinnon replaces Doug Wood, who will continue as a non-executive director on the board. Gerrard Styles will step down from the board to accommodate Mr McKinnon’s appointment, but will remain with the company in a senior management position.

Perrin takes on GM role for Australand

Tony Perrin has been appointed WA general manager for property developer Australand. Mr Perrin will oversee a portfolio of local projects, including the company’s flagship waterfront development – the Port Coogee Marina and Residential Estate. Prior to his appointment, Mr Perrin worked with Australand for 12 years before spending a brief period in Dubai.

McLeod to chair Capricorn Mutual

The board of Capricorn Mutual has appointed Mike McLeod to the position of chairman. Mr McLeod was previously chief executive officer of Australian Health Management. He has headed other companies including Australasian Medical Insurance Limited, Australia’s largest medical indemnity insurer.

Lamont’s new Tourism role

Kate Lamont has been appointed deputy chair of Tourism Australia. Ms Lamont is also chair of Tourism WA and a director of the Committee for Perth. She has more than two decades of experience in the food and wine industry and is a past winner of the Western Australia Telstra Business Woman of the Year. Geoff Dixon, former CEO of Qantas, has been appointed chairman.

Tazewell CEO for Sungrid

Sungrid has appointed Peter Tazewell as its interim chief executive officer, replacing Howard Buckley who has resigned from the company after two years in the role. Mr Tazewell joins Sungrid from Wesfarmers, where he held a number of senior executive roles including chief financial officer at CSBP and most recently general manager, chemicals.

van Leeuwen Norilsk Nickel MD

Norilsk Nickel has appointed Edwin van Leeuwen managing director of its Australian operations. Dr van Leeuwen spent 24 years working with BHP Billiton in various roles across all operating divisions in Russia, China and India.

Bentleys boosts executive team

Peter Gilford has been promoted to associate director of taxation and business advisory following six years with Bentleys, specialising in fields such as resources, mining and construction. Richard Joughin has also been promoted to associate director of the audit and corporate services division following nine years’ experience in the firm.

Po Valley strengthens management

Giovanni Catalano has joined Po Valley as deputy chief executive officer and chief operating officer. He is based in Rome. Mr Catalano succeeds Doug Colkin. Mr Catalano’s most recent position was as chief executive officer of Mediterranean Oil & Gas in the UK and Italy. Sara Edmonson has taken up the role of finance and administration manager. Ms Edmonson has over the past five years worked both in Italy and internationally for Ernst & Young.

Edwards joins AGC

Engineering and fabrication company AGC has appointed Martin Edwards to the position of executive general manager for operations. Mr Edwards most recently worked in the Middle East where he held the position of executive vice-president and chief operating officer with Maritime Industrial Services.

New associate for Integro

Integro Private Financial Consulting has appointed Arman Namdarian as senior associate. Mr Namdarian joins Integro with more than eight years’ experience gained through both advisory and analyst roles within WHK Horwath, GE Capital and including most recently as a financial adviser with RetireInvest.

Changes at The Right Group

Stella McLean (top right) has been appointed account director consulting. Ms McLean has more than 20 years’ experience in marketing and advertising. Ryan Knowles has been appointed senior account manager. Mr Knowles has more than five years’ analytical experience working with both federal and state government departments. Alex Wells has been appointed account manager – research. Ms Wells has nearly three years’ experience developing, conducting and analysing research.

Lingard a Mallesons partner

Mallesons Stephen Jaques has appointed Paul Lingard, who has been with the law firm for nine years, as a partner in its Perth office. Part of the M&A team, Mr Lingard acts for Australia's largest energy and resources companies including BHP Billiton, Synergy and TRUenergy.

Wood & Grieve promotes Granado, Davis

José Granado (far right) has been appointed national building services coordinator. He has more than 20 years’ experience as a consulting engineer and has headed consulting engineering teams on major projects such as Fiona Stanley Hospital. Brett Davis has been appointed as Perth building services manager responsible for all engineering disciplines for buildings in the Perth office.

Peachey makes partner at Wrays

Wrays has appointed Brendan Peachey to the position of partner. His appointment follows 10 years with the firm specialising in pharmaceuticals and chemistry. Dr Peachey is a registered Australian and New Zealand patent attorney.

Irwan BDM at Access Analytic

Access Analytic has appointed Ferad Irwan as its business development manager. Mr Irwan has a strong background in marketing and finance and has held previous positions as a marketing executive.

Carbon new Silver Chain director

Roslyn Carbon has been appointed director of Silver Chain Home Hospital. Before joining Silver Chain in 2010, Ms Carbon managed the state office of the Royal Australian College of GPs.

Richardson appointed director of sales

The Richardson Hotel & Spa has appointed Charlie Turnbull as director of sales. Ms Turnbull has worked extensively throughout Australia and Asia for Silversea Cruises and for Orient-Express Hotels, Trains & Cruises where she held the position of director of sales and marketing.
