Buckley chief at Artsource

WA artist foundation Artsource has appointed Gavin Buckley as chief executive officer. Mr Buckley was previously director of regions and business development at Arts & Business, a UK-based charity.

Bradley joins P&N board

Police & Nurses Mutual Banking has appointed Ed Bradley to its board of directors. Mr Bradley was previously head of strategic risk analytics at Bankwest, and is currently on the board of not- for-profits Interchange Inc and Outward Bound Australia.

Edwards to KPMG

Accounting firm KPMG has appointed James Edwards as a director in the research and development tax practice in Perth. Mr Edwards previously worked for the Chamber of Minerals and Energy.

Price leads Arup Perth team

Michael Price has been appointed as Perth civil infrastructure team leader for engineering and design firm Arup. Mr Price has relocated from Brisbane, where he was an Arup associate and worked on some of the firm’s notable projects including the Brisbane airport link and Gold Coast rapid transit (stage 1).

McGrath joins Virgin

Virgin Australia has appointed Tony McGrath as state manager Western Australia, South Australia and Northern Territory sales, as part of an expanded structure of the airline’s national sales team to provide a state-based focus for the Australian corporate and travel industry markets.

Hernadi to Business Foundations

Gabor Hernadi has been appointed as operations manager at Business Foundations, a not-for-profit that assists small businesses during the planning, start-up and early operations phase through one-on-one mentoring. Mr Hernadi was previously program manager at the Centre for Entrepreneurship at Curtin University.

John to Vantage Performance

Business consultancy Vantage Performance has appointed Richard John as a client director in its WA team. Mr John was previously chief operating officer at Focus Management Group in the US.

Gomez heads Matera

Mark Gomez has been appointed as general manager for Matera Construction and Matera Cabinetry. Mr Gomez joined the Matera Group as general manager construction early this year and, prior to that, was construction manager at a WA mid-tier construction company for over five years.

New PPR hires

Professional Public Relations has appointed Georgia Sweet-apple and Samantha Desport as account managers. Ms Sweetapple was formerly director of Inspire PR and senior account director at Blackie McDonald in Sydney. Ms Desport has 20 years of experience directing PR campaigns in the UK. She has taken on accounts at PPR that include Australand and the Perth Fashion Festival.

Stabback to Wrays

Iftsha Stabback has been appointed as brand and cultural services consultant at intellectual property and trademark law firm Wrays, whose services are being expanded to include branding solutions. Ms Stabback was previously organisational development consultant at Fortescue Metals Group and senior adviser at Barrick Gold Corporation.

New Diabetes WA staff

Ben Dahlstrom (pictured) has been appointed as general manager, marketing and community relations at Diabetes WA. Mr Dahlstrom is a former managing editor of Medical Forum magazine. Phill Moncrieff, a Yamatji man and long-time Aboriginal affairs worker, has been appointed as senior Aboriginal engagement officer.

New board members at WDC

The Wheatbelt Development Commission has appointed former Royal Flying Doctor Service (western operations) CEO Tim Shackleton as board chair, and Karin Day as deputy chair.

Valerie Ammon from Gingin, Graham Cooper from Cunderdin, Anthony Nottle from Jurien Bay, and Carmel Ross from Bindoon have been appointed to the board, following the retirements of Darren West, Tracy Meredith, Paul Tomlinson and Shane Love.

International technology firm HP has opened a new office in Perth at Level 2, 251 Adelaide Tce. Simon Ayres will be WA state manager.

Software and data management firm Red Rock Consulting, a wholly owned subsidiary of ASX-listed UXC, has opened a new office in Perth at Level 14, Bankwest Tower, 180 St Georges Tce.
