Hayes joins Raine & Horne

Phillip Hayes has been appointed as business support and development manager at WA real estate firm Raine & Horne. Mr Hayes was previously a licensee, associate director and auctioneer at Realmark Real Estate.

Hunt up at Jackson McDonald

WA law firm Jackson McDonald has promoted Hilary Hunt to partner, banking and finance. Ms Hunt joined the firm in July 2012 as special counsel.

Renae Harding has been promoted to special counsel, workplace relations, Mark Blatchford to senior associate, insurance and risk, Zaneta Witherington to associate, insurance and risk and Anna White to associate, banking and finance.

Murray CCC inspector

Former Supreme Court judge Michael Murray has been appointed as the new Parliamentary Inspector of the Corruption and Crime Commission. Justice Murray is currently also chairman of the Supervised Release Review Board and is an adjunct professor of law at Murdoch University.

Allion secures Sluiter

Carly Sluiter has joined Allion Legal as a senior associate in the litigation and dispute resolution practice. Ms Sluiter formerly held a senior associate position at Holman Fenwick and Willan, as well as Talbot Olivier.

Hyde to Metrix

Market research firm Metrix has appointed Brad Hyde as business director. Mr Hyde was previously a senior research consultant at Melbourne firm Sweeney Research.

Ovens to chair RWWA

Board member Jeff Ovens has been appointed as chairman of Racing and Wagering Western Australia, the WA racing industry’s governing body. From January 31, Mr Ovens will replace incumbent Ross Bowe, who is retiring after four terms and a decade at the helm.

Promotions at Talbot Olivier

Alana Salsano and Natalie Kam have been promoted to senior associates at law firm Talbot Olivier.

Ms Salsano practices in the commercial litigation team and Ms Kam in family law.

New Library board posts

Strategy director of mobile application and marketing company Adapptor, Richard Giles, and lawyer and business executive Sonja Heath have been appointed to the Library Board of WA. Reappointments to the board include City of Perth councillor Janet Davidson and consultant Michael Murray. Curtin University economist Margaret Nowak has been nominated as chair of the board.

Curtin puts up Soontiens

Werner Soontiens has been appointed director of the Master of Business Administration Program at Curtin Graduate School of Business. Associate Professor Soontiens was previously the Dean International of Curtin Business School and Head of the School of Management.

Palermo chairs ICA

John Palermo has been appointed chairman of the WA Regional Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Mr Palermo has been a member of the institute for more than a decade and is director of Palermo Chartered Accountants. He replaces outgoing chair Peter Hansen.

Del Borrello new at Deloitte

Accounting firm, Deloitte, has appointed Dom Del Borrello as director in its financial advisory services practice.

Mr Del Borello has held senior corporate roles at Iluka Resources, Anaconda Nickel and Po Valley Energy.

Reynolds joins Crondall

Hugh Reynolds has been appointed general manager Australia at oil and gas consultancy Crondall Energy. Mr Reynolds was previously the oil and gas service group manager at GHD.

Bonney chief at MG Corp

Indigenous organisation MG Corporation has appointed Craig Bonney as CEO. Mr Bonney has been the manager of MG Corporation’s services division for the past year, and replaces previous CEO Franklin Gaffney, who resigned in August.

New theatre board

Retired Supreme Court judge Peter Blaxell has been appointed chairman of the Perth Theatre Trust board. Mr Blaxell is currently the deputy chairman of the Special Air Service Resources Trust. Helen Cook and Max Kay have been reappointed to the board for three years, along with new board member, lawyer Morgan Solomon.
