Apex appoints new Wiluna boss

Apex Minerals has appointed Resolute Mining general manager Allan King as chief operating officer.

In a statement, Apex said Mr King has a distinguished record in the Australian mining industry, having held several senior positions across a diverse range of companies and commodities.

His previous posts include General Manager, Mining at LionOre in Australia, State Manager, Mining at Thiess Contracting, General Manager Nifty Copper, Mining Manager at KCGM and Resident Manager at WMC's St Ives Gold Project.

Mr King is expected to take up the position in August and will be based initially at the company's Wiluna gold mine.

Apex Managing Director Mark Ashley said Mr King's vast operational experience and
commitment to bottom-line results would be invaluable to the Company as it continued the
process of turning around the performance of its Wiluna Gold Project.

"Allan is one of the most experienced and respected operational executives in the Australian mining industry and I am delighted to have secured his services," Mr Ashley said.

"He is wellknown for his focussed, down to earth and pragmatic approach to achieving results and for bringing a wider strategic focus to everyday operational issues," he said
