Another summer, another survey

THE first radio survey of 2002 hasn’t delivered any astonishing swings. The biggest shift, in fact, was experienced by the All New 92.9, which lost 2.6 per cent of audience share.

A closer look at the demographics shows ABC 720 has lost 7.3 per cent in the 55+ demographic, which is usually a big market for the talkback stations.

However, its share barely moved across all the other demographics, resulting in an overall percentage slip of only -1.9 per cent.

ABC 720 claimed the biggest downward swing in the all important breakfast slot, losing 3.2 per cent.

However, the All New 92.9 was not too far behind, losing 2.7 per cent, putting the station back to 15.1 per cent in the slot.

The All New 92.9 is still number one for the 10-17 and 18-24 age brackets, while 94.5 has retained the top spot for 25-39 and 40-54 age groups.

Mix 94.5’s Botica’s Bunch have comfortably retained the coveted top spot in the breakfast time slot, 6.9 per cent ahead of the nearest competition.

With these latest ratings results, Mix 94.5 has dominated the baby boomers demographic for 70 consecutive surveys.
