If you’ve avoided the floral walls of The Melbourne Hotel’s Louisiana’s Restaurant this news may have you walking in for a look. The restaurant has undergone a significant refurbishment and the flowers have been replaced with a contemporary look of yellow and lilac.

Funky palms and leather couches are just some of the newcomers but general manager Tony Pallotta says they’ve been able to incorporate some of the original design.

“We went for more of wine bar concept and we pulled back some of the carpet to segment the restaurant from the bar. We discovered floorboards that are we believe are the original boards, so they’d be 105 years old,” he says.
