Agmaster top regional business for 2005

Collie business Agmaster was named as the 2005 Australia Post Western Australian regional small business of the year at the weekend.

Agmaster was also successful in the business with 10 to twenty employees category, for its innovative and revolutionary 'no-till' seeding system for broadacre farming.

The Kimberley region featured strongly with three category winners including:

- Broome and the Kimberley Holidays won the business with five to 10 employees category;

- Broome Sightseeing Tours won the home based business category; and

- Kimberley Boab Kreations won the Business Enterprise Centre achiever category.

The other award winner was Humfrey Land Developments from Geraldton which picked up the Microbusiness category.

The Australia Post WA Regional Small Business Awards are co-ordinated by the Small Business Development Corporation to showcase the State's most innovative and outstanding small business operators.

More than 400 small businesses participated in 13 regional Small Business Award Programs co-ordinated by local Chambers of Commerce and Business Enterprise Centres throughout the State.

Finalists were selected from the 45 winners of these awards.
