Work has started on the $21.4 million Port Coogee shopping centre, with national development group Australand signing Adco Constructions to carry out the build.
Australand put out the call for builders for the centre, which will be anchored by a Woolworths supermarket, in April.
Adco, which is also building the Currambine shopping centre, has 42 years' experience in Western Australia's construction industry.
Leasing at the 4,430 square metre centre is being undertaken by Lease Equity, which reported in April it had received more than 50 submissions from retailers keen to set up shop in the mall.
The Port Coogee shopping centre is expected to open mid-2016.
