Updates auditor information guide

ASIC has updated its information sheet for applicants wishing to register as a company auditor, after becoming concerned at the quality of applications received.

It has warned that the mere act of completing an application form does not guarantee approval.

ASIC says it must be able to determine that an applicant can meet corporate regulations experience requirements, and is capable of conducting a large company audit.

The guide - How to apply to be registered as an auditor – aims to assist applicants to improve applications so that ASIC can assess suitability for registration in a more timely and efficient manner.

It sets out details applicants must provide, and in what format this information must be provided, and includes a checklist. How to apply to be registered as an auditor is available from www.asic.gov.au, and from 1300 300 630.
